X-Ray Film Recycling

Can Industrial X-Ray Film Rolls Be Recycled?

Industrial X-ray film rolls and strips can be considered for recycling when the material is suitable and approved for removal. Their shape alone does not determine acceptance. Call California Film Recycling with the product information and say whether the film is unused stock or completed inspection records.

Why does industrial film come in rolls?

Industrial film is supplied in several formats for different inspection work. Rolls and narrow strips can be found alongside flat sheets in the same department.

A long shape does not make the material ordinary packaging plastic. Describe it as industrial radiographic film and keep any original product details available.

Is the material used or unused?

A boxed roll of unused stock and a folder of completed inspection strips answer different questions. One is a supply item; the other may be part of a project record.

Mention both groups if they are present. Product names help identify the film, while job references help your company decide which records can be removed.

What about paper and lead screens?

Some industrial film formats include paper or lead screens in their packaging. These materials are separate from the film and should be mentioned when defining the collection.

Do not assume a heavy package is entirely film. Tell the team about screens, holders, or cassettes rather than grouping every item under one film weight.

Should rolls be cut into smaller pieces?

Do not cut or unroll film just to prepare for an inquiry. Describe the length or package size if known, and ask how the accepted material will be collected.

For inspection records, first obtain approval from the person responsible for the project or quality files. Customer obligations may still apply after the physical work is complete.

How do you book the right pickup?

Call 951-822-6298 and describe the film formats, rough amount, and access to storage. Mention unused rolls, completed job folders, and any accessories as separate parts of the conversation.

California Film Recycling's team boxes and removes approved archives onsite and handles sorting. Confirm the accepted material and current per-pound pricing for eligible film before the visit.

Quick questions

Are narrow inspection strips still film?

They can be. Industrial radiographic film is available in several shapes and formats. A product name is more useful than shape alone for confirming the material.

Does a lead screen qualify as film?

No. A lead screen is a different material. Mention it separately and confirm its handling instead of assuming it is covered by a film agreement.

Should I include old processing chemicals?

Only if separate arrangements have been confirmed. A pickup for solid film records does not automatically include liquids, processors, or recovery cartridges.
